Semicon India 2026 begins on September 17 as India expands its semiconductor push beyond building chip factories, with greater attention on chip design, manufacturing and supply-chain capacity. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the fifth edition of the three-day conference in New Delhi.
The event will run from September 17 to 19 under the theme “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem.” It is designed to bring Indian and global companies, policymakers, investors, researchers, startups and academic institutions together across the semiconductor and electronics value chain.
The Semicon India 2026 conference will focus on collaboration, investment, innovation and talent development as India works to strengthen its semiconductor ecosystem. The event also provides a platform for companies and institutions to discuss opportunities across different parts of the industry.
The semiconductor ecosystem India is building has emerged over the past few years, with the government seeking to attract global chip manufacturers and skilled talent. The conference will showcase the country’s developing capabilities and connect businesses with policymakers and other participants.
The emphasis on design, manufacturing and supply-chain capacity indicates that the sector extends beyond individual fabrication facilities.
The programme includes sessions covering developments in the display industry, along with six Country Roundtables aimed at encouraging collaboration and potential joint ventures. These discussions are expected to bring companies and stakeholders from different markets into closer engagement with India’s semiconductor ambitions.
The semiconductor ecosystem India is developing also includes talent and innovation. The conference will feature discussions involving researchers, startups and academic institutions, while a dedicated forum will focus on women’s leadership.
The Semicon India 2026 programme will run for three days, giving participants opportunities to discuss investment, technology and collaboration across the electronics and semiconductor value chain.
The conference comes as India seeks to establish a stronger domestic semiconductor base while attracting international companies and expertise. Its broader focus on the semiconductor ecosystem India is building places equal attention on manufacturing, design, talent and supply-chain capabilities.
The immediate spotlight will remain on the discussions, partnerships and investment opportunities emerging during the event. The outcome of those engagements will help show how India’s semiconductor ambitions develop beyond individual chip factories and into a wider industrial ecosystem.
